ROBERT J. DAVIS, PhD, MPH, PRESIDENT/CEO & EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
Robert J. Davis has 20 years' experience in health media. Prior to establishing MediVista Media, he launched and ran Newsweek Productions' health unit, which produced the highly-acclaimed PBS series HealthWeek, and also served as executive editor for Time Life Medical, a television venture headed by former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop. In addition, Davis has been a producer for CNN medical news, a reporter for Medical News Network, and a contributing health columnist for both The Wall Street Journal and WebMD. He teaches health communication at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health and is a board member of the California Endowment Health Journalism Fellowship program. A graduate of Princeton University, he also holds a master's degree in public health from Emory and a PhD in health policy from Brandeis University, where he was a Pew Foundation Fellow.
THOMAS HICKS, EVP SALES AND MARKETING
Thomas Hicks is the former Chief Operating Officer of AccentHealth, where he oversaw network operations and technology expansion, with full P&L responsibilities. He has over 25 years of management and operations experience with major media companies, including the Discovery Channel – where he founded and launched Discovery.com in 1995 – and U.S. News & World Report. For the past six years, he has served as a business strategy consultant to major media companies, including consumer health information companies OnHealth, Thrive, and HealthTalk. He is a graduate of American University in Washington, DC.
LOREN GOLDFARB, EVP CONTENT AND DISTRIBUTION
Loren Goldfarb has worked in television since 1993. He began his career as a writer and producer for the NBC television network and its owned and operated TV stations. In 2000, he left Dateline NBC to join PBS HealthWeek. While at the PBS weekly health magazine, Goldfarb developed a partnership with ABC's Nightline, which aired HealthWeek documentary specials. Before joining Everwell, Goldfarb served as Director of Production for Home Front Communications in Washington, D.C. where he provided strategic counsel to federal government agencies, Fortune 500 companies and large non-profits, and managed a large video production staff. Goldfarb holds a MBA from George Washington University and a BA degree in broadcast journalism and policy studies from Syracuse University.
RICK NORTH, SVP SALES AND MARKETING
Rick North has held senior advertising sales & marketing management positions for cable, Internet and out-of-home video networks. At Turner, he managed multiple sales teams selling TBS, TNT, Cartoon Network and syndicated programming. At AccentHealth, where he was head of sales and marketing, he led the company to a three-fold revenue growth over two years and increased the customer renewal rate from 35% to 100%. He has also consulted on ad sales effectiveness for over 30 major cable, Internet, place-based media and research companies including CNN, Rainbow Media, AETN, Univision, Nielsen, and The Knot. North holds a BS degree in communications from Syracuse University and an MBA from Pace University.
VAUGHN MORRISON, VP BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND CONTENT
Vaughn Morrison has extensive experience managing content production and building business systems and strategies for a wide variety of digital media companies. He has held executive positions with JibJab, TV Guide on Demand, CNN and Fox Sports, and has been a project mentor for the American Film Institute's Digital Content Lab. Morrison is a three-time Emmy winner for his production work and holds an MBA from Georgia State University.
